HW 14

Answer 1

Last weekend when I was in Petit Jean Mountain with my friends, we saw about four Leonid showers, the showers look like a white light line. Back home most people believe that God who did the Leonid showers to devils, so devils get killed by the Leonid showers.

It might be passable to have humans’ colonization in some other plant, but the question is what change we will have. We may have change in our food, clothes, and many different things, but people reacts will stay the same, we will have people who look for to have wars, and on opposite we people who look forward to have peace. And even though we did not have that in the beginning of the colonization we will have those kind of problems in the long future.

Answer 2

I am so sorry to say that but since I am not going to present I have no answer for this question.

HW 13

Answer 1

Toxoplasma gondii was very interesting topic to me. This diseases caused by a parasite, cats are the most animal who can get this disease easily. Toxoplasma infection, which can lead to toxoplasmosis, can be transmitted by cats to humans, and poses a special danger to pregnant women.
Anyway I believe that Gondii can affect human behavior, but it the affect not as research has reached.

Answer 2

I think Toxoplasma gondii could be used in the future application that can help people behavior. We can Toxoplasma Gondii to control people behavior. For example we can use that in different applications either in a good way or a bad way. We can affect on bad people behavior and change them to a nice and good behavior and the opposite is right.

HW 12

1)Suppose you had a coupon for a free robot. The catch is it can only do one thing. But you can get a robot that will do whatever one thing you like, just not anything else. What would you want your robot to do?

I think if I get a free robot that could do one thing I want it to cook the food for me, I want the food be ready when I come from school, because I don’t have time to cook and I don’t know how to cook, I want it to cook for me while I’m studying at night, when I come from the library I just get the food outside the refrigerator then it cook it for me I choose the type of the food and the quantity, but if this robot could do a larger task I want it to do grocery to whatever I want to cook and cleaning the miss after the cooking and bring me the meal to my room and take it the dishes back to the kitchen and clean it and also want it to serve the food to my gusts

2) Write or develop an additional significant piece of your project. As a suggestion, consider the connection of robots to your topic. However, if another subject besides robots seems more appropriate, that is just as good. Post the new section on your blog.

As I mention before car in the long future will be fully automated and this is exactly the same with what the robot do. In our daily life we have depended on cars and transportations every day. We have many things happened such a car theft, car accident and crime activities and all of these are waiting to solve. Having a big alarm car theft kits are not complete solution to get the theft, but it’s only keep the theft away when they heard the alarm. Another problem that we need to solve when we have a big serious accident happened in the passengers get serious injured and they need immediate medical help some time they cannot call to get help without other come to the car and make the call. The robot have connection with the car witch have a sensor connect by it computer, so when something happened to the car the robot get sing that there is something happened for it in the computer center. Also the robot will be built with programming lists that could make a decision and action to call who can solve this problem. So if we have robot program in our car this robot could take a video and transfer it to the car’s owner and then the owner could connect with the police to catch that thief. Also if we have traffic accident happened the robot could automatic make calls skiing for medical help for passengers. If we have this invention that will help us to reduce thief crime activities and having a better security and peaceful society that help injured passengers when they have a big accident and nobody there to help them.

HW 11

1) Under the heading "Question 1," "1," "Answer 1," or anything like that, discuss briefly the applicability or inapplicability of the discussion from Monday 10/26 to your project.

Monday the26 discussion was about applicable and inapplicable. Many of the things that could be applicable in transportation in the future. On other hand many things could be inapplicable. First let’s talk about things that could be applicable in transportation. I believe that in the future when we run out of the gas we will have new kind of transportation application. I believe our transportations in the future are going to be worked with electrical power and solar energy this is one of the things could be applicable, also there is inapplicable in transportation like transportation work with water energy.

2) Under the heading "2" or something like that, discuss briefly the applicability or inapplicability of the discussion from Wednesday 10/28 to your project.

Also I believe that in the future everyone will have vehicle that could be used as car and airplane in the same time, which they will have specific lines and system in the air which will be no more accident, and the reason of that the vehicles will be controlled by one international system and the vehicles have sensors that could avoid accident before it could happen. I do not believe these vehicles we will have could be used out of the earth space it also hard to be controlled by people themselves.

Answer 2

October 28th we had discussion about Roborts and I can define Robort as a machine that everyone need in the future and the Roborts will be part of our daily life. In my opinion this was very applicable to my project, transportation in the near future will be partial automated for example: car will be able to park by themselves and be driven by special system to the destination, but the long future cars will be fully automated in everything, car will have system that people didn’t need to stop to buy coffee it could have coffee machine control by the owner of the car.

3) Advance your project. Under the heading "3," etc., place the new things.

HW 10

Q1) we discussed in class how there is no such thing as a "scientific proof." Explain in your own words.

A scientific proof bases on theories or hypotheses, sciences use theories as a majority to make their proofs, and they also use hypotheses as a minority way to make proofs.

We noticed that the phrase scientific proof does not make sense, and that for many reasons, we know that sciences do not always have a proof for what they get, they make assumptions and they try to get a results for what they assumed, sometimes they get what they expected and sometimes not. Sciences cannot give us a significant results and proofs for everything they do as mathematical does, mathematical say 2 times 3 is equal to 6 and they can proof it.

Q2) Write a new part for your project of 250 words or more.

Cars in ten years from now:

1) In ten years from now we will drive vehicles that predict the future, cars that can park by themselves. We will drive vehicles that can see into the future and react on a dime -- whether that means detecting a person crossing the street or swerving to avoid oncoming traffic. These vehicles equipped with hundreds of sensors will be able to monitor their surroundings, both from a short-range perspective (to detect things like barriers and stop signs) and a long-range perspective (to detect things like a truck barreling toward you). But they won't be working alone. They will also utilize video monitors located at intersections. Currently planned for many towns and cities across the United States, these monitors will feed data to your car over a wireless network. From as far as 30 miles away, they'll be able to transmit video imagery right to your dashboard. So, if you didn't see that pedestrian walking into the street, the video system would know where you were, know about the pedestrian, and warn you to pay attention.

2) We will also drive vehicles which will talk to the road and the road talk back, it is easy to have our cars senses to the road and other vehicles, but we will have something else which is the road will talk to our cars back, to make this possible city governments and automakers are joining forces to launch new Dedicated Short Range Communications (DSRC) systems. Using short-range wireless signals, vehicles will be able to communicate not only with each other, but with the entire infrastructure on the road.

3) You will have cars that will take itself into the shop for maintenance .When you drive through McDonald's, your car will be debited, not your VISA. And you can go ahead, take a nap. Your car will drive itself.

HW 9

Introduction:
1) History of transportations:

The beginning of transportation was about 3500BC when fixed wheels on carts were invented, and also River boats which were ships with oars were invented. And then about 2000 BC horses were used for transportations. Then between 181-234 the wheelbarrows were invented. Then in about 770 the transportations were improved when iron horseshoes were invented. Then in 1662 Blaise Pascal invented the first public bus which was drawn by horses, this bus was in a regular route, schedule, and fare systems. Then in 1783 the first practical steamboat was demonstrated by Marqis Claude. Then in the 1790 steamboat invented. In the 19th century were a lot of invented; the most popular were gasoline engine automobile, compressed air locomotive brake-enable trains, and cable car. Then in 20th century we had more indentations, like airplane, helicopter, hydrofoil boats, hovercraft, and a lot of things.

2) Kind of transportations applications can be reached in the future:

Kind of transportations applications that we will have in the future depended on how much the price of oil will be. Even though oil price has never got changed the transportation will get changed, but I think the oil price will be the biggest be affective on the future transportation application especially of the oil price gets increased. So if we assume that gas price will get increase, engineers will work harder to make vehicle cost less gas, or make them work with something else than gas.
New we already have started to have new kinds of vehicles that work some time with gas and sometimes with electric power. For example Hybrid-electric vehicles (HEVs) combine the benefits of gasoline engines and electric motors and can be configured to obtain different objectives, such as improved fuel economy, increased power, or additional auxiliary power for electronic devices and power tools.

3) What is passable and what is not.
Kinds of transportation we may have and may not have are depended on the time, so transportation will get improved depending on time. for example in the ten years from now it is most likely that we will have cars that can park by themselves, cars that will predict the future, cars which will talk to the road and the road talk back, and many different features.

4) Issues we may face in the future.
I do not think that we may have lots of problems comparing with advantages that we will have gain with the new transportation features.

5) Conclusion:
Transportations will get improved step by step with time, but the improvements will get faster with future, and we can see that by looking at transportation history. We noticed that transportation in the past had moved very slowly, and it has gotten faster movement with time, so what I expect from transportations in long future will be something untenable now.

Homework Eighth

I really like Sci-Fi movies and I'm really interesting in watching it. I like the way how this people think, this could make big different in our life if that happened. I like the idea of the movie. From watching the movie and what happened in it. it could be a lot of crime in Washington D.C because as we see now there is a lot of weapons everyone can carry one, but I don’t think what they called it "pre-Cogs" have special power that see into future and predict crimes beforehand. What I saw in the movie that these people can punish the guilty person before the crime happen and know all the details about it. In my opinion this could not happen, it’s hard for me to believe it. what could happened they can stop the crime before it happened by fallow the trial and have some evidences, but they can’t have all the details about it. This movie talking about stop the crime before it happened by knowing the future by technology and scanning the eyes to get all the information and every single details. Their goal to make the world clean from all these crime and make people live peaceful life by making really straight justice system. It’s impossible to know the future but we can only predict. We have a lot of new technology it helps us in our life and it makes our life easier, but by knowing the future it’s really impossible.

Homework Seven

I am supposed to have more information but unfortunately this all I got new .

In the second part of the homework we are asked to apply TRIZ in our topic. My topic is transportations in the future. I think is a good example for that is making cars working without spending any gas when they reach like sixty five or seventy mile per second, I think in that speed cars can produce energy by their movement, and that can be used instead of the gas.
Then part B we are asked to pick up ten TRIZ items and apply them to our topic.1) Local Quality: make something that is uniform, nonuniform. When we make cars produce energy in certain speed that is changing them from uniform to nonuniform.2) Asymmetry: make something that is symmetric, asymmetric. I think having cars with more number of wheels could help them to produce more energy than having four tires.3) Segmentation: break something unitary into parts, modules, pieces, etc. in our situation when the car reach the speed that it needs to stop spending gas we could let the part that we do not need to be off.4) Universality: make one thing do more than one thing. I think we cars could be able to fly in the future.5) Preliminary action: do something to an object before it is needed. Cars in the future might be able to tell driver if something wrong would happen before it happens.6) Equipotentiality: compensate for gravity. As I mentioned before cars may be able to fly in the future.7) Dynamics: make it movable or flexible. Cars can be fixed by themselves, like if there is something wrong in them they get fixed without taking them to a mechanic.8) Self-service: something serves itself. In the future cars might have programs which can lead them anywhere we want to go.9) Color changes: change color or transparency of object or environment. We might have cars can get change their colors as we like.10) Cheap short-lived objects: throw it away afterwards. As I mentioned before that we may need more wheels in order to produce more energy, therefore tires should be cheaper in the future.

The second part is to design an outline for our report.
1) Introduction:
a) The history of transportation.
b) The current transportation.

2) Kind of transportations applications can be reach in the future.
3) What is passable and what is not.
4) Issue we may face with new kind of transportations.
5) Conclusion.
6) References.

Homewrok six

We have discussed in the class with our teacher some topics relates to the future, and from these topics we should fine three websites for these topics, then we have to make an argument about we found in those websites.
1) When will the broadband Internet speed/download speed offering reach 1 GBPS (gigabyte per second globally (i.e 51 to 49 % being dominant), where downloading a whole movie (approx 2 Gigs) would happen in 3 seconds at max?
a) http://gigaom.com/2009/02/01/by-2012-koreans-will-get-a-gigabit-per-second-broadband-connection/. (This article talks about that Korea will get 1Gbps Broadband Connections by 2012).
b) http://www.pcworld.com/businesscenter/article/147451/study_calls_for_1g_broadband_in_us.html . ( this article about study calls for 1G broadband in US).
c) http://www.cellphonehits.net/1gbps-internet-speed-now-available-in-japan/ . ( this article saying that 1Gbps internet speed new available in Japan).

2) What will the average human lifespan be in the US, in the year 2050?
a) http://www.imminst.org/forum/index.php?act=ST&f=67&t=680&s ( This article talks about Average Human Lifespan, Maximum Human Lifespan, and different things that may help to a make a research on lifespan in the US, in the year 2050.
b) http://www.mentalhelp.net/poc/center_index.php?id=72 (this article talks about Medical Disorders and how do the affect people life).
c) http://www.infed.org/biblio/lifecourse_development.htm (This article talks about lifespan development and lifelong learning).

3) Green energy technologies.
a) http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/150mpg-algae-powered-toyota-prius (this article talks about if we could use algae instead of gasoline in cars.
b) http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/more-efficient-solar-cells-with-carbon-%20nanotubes/ (in this article there are thinking on using carbon instead of silicon which is cheaper and more efficient hopefully).
c) http://www.alternative-energy-news.info/solar-flower-tower/ ( this article talks about thr future solar power in South Israel).

In the second part of the homework we are asked to apply TRIZ in our topic. My topic is transportations in the future. Homework Five

In this homework I will talk about Predication Markets. I will use the website which our instructor gave us in the class. http://www.intrade.com/. On the predication market everyone can make bids depending on what they think.
1) GM to sell 15,000 Chevy Volts by December 31, 2011
The current bid is 10%, I believe this number should be higher since the gas price is getting higher.
2) USA and/or Israel to execute an overt Air Strike against Iran by 31 Dec 2010
The current bid is 30.5%, I do not believe that would happen, not because they cannot do it but because they will lose a lot of money in that war.
3) Verizon to announce before midnight ET on 31 Dec 2009 that it will begin selling the Apple iPhone.
The current bid is 0.5%, I think AT&T will renew the agreement with Apple againe, therefore Verizon wont have the chance to sell Apple Ipone.
4) Barack Obama to be Democratic Presidential Nominee in 2012
The current bid is 81.3%, I believe he will be nominee in 2012 again according to the good things that he already has done.

5) Average national price for regular unleaded gas to be $1.00 per gallon or more on 31 Dec 2009
The current bid 95%, this could happen if the exporting country of oil start to export two times more the amount that they export.
6) A federal government run health insurance plan to be approved before midnight ET 31 Dec 2009
The current bid is 28.4%, I think this will occur since they have been working on it for long time.
7) The US Economy will go into Recession during 2010
The current bid is 39.4%, I do believe that not only the US Economy go into recession but the whole world economy will go into recession but not in next year, I think that it would happen in two years from new.
8) British troops in Iraq to withdraw to less than 1000 soldiers remaining by Jan 1st 2010
The current bid is 70%, I do not believe that would happen by Jun 1st 2010 because Iraq government still need support.
9) Osama Bin Laden to be captured/neutralised by 31 Dec 2009.
The current bid is 3.7%, I do not believe he will be captured because I think he is already died.
10) Average Global Temperature for 2009 to be among five warmest years on record.
The current bid is 60%, I do not think so, because from my own experience I feel like every winter season is getting colder that the others.

Average national price for regular unleaded gas to be $1.00 per gallon or more on 31 Dec 2009
I do not believe this will happen because I think everything is getting more expensive and that because oil products is getting more expensive,

HW 4

For homework four I have decided to talk about transportations in ten years, what kind will get changed and what not, I will also talk about the reasons that may make transportation change. So I will make a research about that and from there I will say how transportations will get change.

Homework Three

We discussed the Delphi method. The questions below will give a more in-depth understanding of the Delphi method. Post the answers on your blog.

1. If your question was one of those that the class used the Delphi method on, find the median and the range of the middle 50% of the responses. Using a graphics editor of your choice (even paint works for this), make a graph that is analogous or similar to the one in the lecture notes, showing the total range, middle 50% range, and median. If your question was not discussed in class, then (1) figure out a way of saying the question that will hopefully work well when we apply the Delphi method to it in class, and (2) explain why you designed the question the way you did.

My question was one of those that the class used the Delphi method one the question was when commercial airplanes will be ten time faster. We recorded students’ prediction on the board. Then I asked some of my classmates about their predictions. Then we recorded a new predication based on the discussions that we had which almost was the same.

2. Read up on the Delphi method on the Web (or the library). Explain how the process that we went through in class differs from the process as described in the sources you found.

Delphi Method: we use it to explore an issue with a distributed group of people. In this method we define the problem that we want to work on, then we give everyone the problem, then we collate the responses, then we give everyone the collation, and finally we repeat as necessary. i think we went through the process very well.

3. Based on what you can find about the Delphi method, what shortcomings, risks, or other weaknesses do you see for the process that we followed in class? Also do you see a way to fix some of these?

I think if we have the questions before the class it would be better, we could read about the questions from the internet or ask about them which will allow us to have stronger discussions.

HW 2

In the class we discussed four different types of curves. Linear, exponential, s-shaped, and plateau curves. We were asked to make a prediction of future using those curves to describe that prediction. I think word economic is a good example for that.
Word economic is very interesting topic to be apply to the four curves. We all know that the word economic in the past grew very slow especially before the industries and oil used became so wide, and this represented steady linear curve. But if we compare the long past to the early past, it will represent the exponential shape.
Looking at word economic in these days and compare it with the long past it will represent the s-shaped curve. And I think in the future the word economic will fail so it would represent the plateau curve.
Estimate the doubling time of the software development productivity of the average programmer, if productivity increases at 6%/year.
Let us say the doubling time would be 10 years. Then in 12 years the amount would be double.
Estimate the percent per year of increases in the complexity of PC computers if this complexity doubles every 2 years. (By "complexity" we could say we're talking about the number of transistors on a CPU chip, if you were wondering.)
The approximate percent increase would be about 41%/year.
Estimate the percent per year of increases in the complexity of PC computers if complexity doubles every 18 months, as some think it is doing.
The percent increase is about 56%.
What is the doubling time of your money if you have it in the bank making 2% interest per year?It would 35 years for an arbitrary amount of money to double if it is gaining 2% interest

Homework1

1) Eric Giler demos wireless electricity
http://www.ted.com/talks/eric_giler_demos_wireless_electricity.html
I think in the future a lot of electronic devices are going to be a wireless. Even now, people are devolping wireless charger for cellphones.

2)Georgia Tech's "Future Computing Environments group http://www.cc.gatech.edu/gvu/fce/index.html
This is interstin for me because it is always good to have diffrnt kind of culures in order to get to know about things that we do not know.

3) Nina Jablonski breaks the illusion of skin color.
http://www.ted.com/talks/nina_jablonski_breaks_the_illusion_of_skin_color.html
I think people in the future are going to get careless about skin color and they will start to think about whatever help them make money. Most people will not depend on color skin to deal with people.
